Source Embodiment & Gaza

If it's not already clear, The Source Embodiment Process is all about liberating our life-force from the conditioned contractions we've taken on through our lives (and from our ancestors) in order to live from our wholeness and Soul's purpose. Speaking not just as a licensed trauma therapist, or spiritual teacher, but also as thinking and feeling human, I firmly believe that if we honor the embodied flow of life, not just in ourselves, but all beings, we can more easily be who we are fully here to be and serve how we are here to serve in a reciprocal relationship to the creative forces of nature that sustain us. If enough of us walk this way as a collective, we will redirect the destructive and extractive forces of the modern world to create a generative future for all.

Personally speaking, I do my very best to live from these values, and I feel it deeply when I see others, who lack my privileges, are denied their agency and choice to live in the embodiment of their liberated life-force. Earlier today, the International Court of Justice has recognized evidence of genocide in Gaza. We know, of course, that Hamas has not respected the life-force of Israelis either, but with over 100,000 innocent people (mostly women and children) that are now either dead or critically wounded, this ruling finally makes it absolutely clear to the world what has already been clear for millions of Palestinians. Though the ICJ's ruling is a small victory worth celebrating, unfortunately Israel has declared that they will not acknowledge it. Right now, they only way this will end is if the US withdraws its military support of Israel which of course is funded by our tax dollars.

As a spiritual teacher some may prefer I keep politics out of my messaging. Yes, what I speak of is challenging and a departure from the tone I usually write from, however, I know within in each of you lies a strength and capacity far beyond what we could ever know. I also know you have already survived much worse than this blog, and are capable of meeting this moment in history with the courage and presence of Source itself.

I write all this in solidarity with the people of Gaza, not just because my heart shatters for them, but also because I believe that spirituality without an embodied human response to genocide undermines it's ability to truly liberate those who practice it. This only serves to create a greater separation from reality and the truth of our being, resulting in a very subtle yet dangerous bypass that ultimately continues to serve and accelerate the very extractive and divisive forces at odds with life on earth that we seek to radically transform. It does this by using the resource of agreeable, spiritual states of consciousness to anesthetize ourselves from events in the world that we might otherwise follow the impulse of our aliveness into action and actually do something about.

To be clear, I'm not advocating to blindly follow your impulses into danger or falling into the “savior's” trap of the drama triangle. What I am advocating for is the engagement and integration of both our spiritual and human being-ness, bringing our discernment and wisdom online equally with our responsive, agile, feeling hearts & bodies.

Source Embodiment is a Non-Dual path, which means that nothing is outside of Source and that all human experience can be fuel for the Self-realization process. I pray this horrifying chapter in our history can be our collective fuel. Destruction is just as much a part of the “All” as creation and each are essential to come to terms with on the spiritual journey. However, as a trauma informed, somatic path we also recognize that experiences, such as violence, that fragment the self and disregulate the body are not ultimately conducive to our embodiment of wholeness.

As our world continues to polarize, S.E.P. does not engage an escapist, renunciate or transcendental path. Rather true embodied “ascension” requires the descent of our higher self, ever more fully into our bodies. This is because as long as we have bodies, we are still responsible for maintaining a healthy planet to sustain them. It's only by rooting down, that a tree reaches its leaves to the sky. In this way, I believe that reaching for and living from The Source of Life Within is a Revolutionary Act that the Earth is asking each one of us to make.
